Cookie Wars!

Today my sister and my sister’s friend had a cookie war! my sister made a honey banana peanut, a strawberry honey coconut cookie, candy coconut with nuts, and a chocolate chunk nut coconut

Her friend made a banana coconut and butterscotch pecan, a cookie butter honey with a KitKat in it, and a strawberry coconut with a honey drizzle

How they did their cookie war was, my mom made a basic cookie dough and then they modified it with whatever they could find here’s the recipe for the cookies:

Makes about 60 cookies

2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 pound (2 sticks) of softened, unsalted butter*

1 cup of light or dark brown sugar

1/2 a cup of granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon of water

2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans (also optional)

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees and whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda

Then either with a electric mixer or by hand cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy then (continue whisking and) add eggs, vanilla, and water. Beat until combined

After that add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and beat with mixer for about 40 seconds. Then you add in anything you want.

Next you drop your batter (by tablespoons) onto slightly greased cookie sheets and every 4-5 minutes switch the positions of your cookie sheets for 8 minutes, when that’s done cool your cookies for as long as you’d like (longer than 5 minutes).

And Enjoy!
